			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The thirty year fixed mortgage rates saw an epic low this week!  The 30-year fixed mortgage fell to 3.88 percent this week, down from the older record set last week. (3.89)  This is the eighth record low in a year.</p>
<p>Fifteen year mortgages rose ever so slightly from 3.16 percent to 3.17 percent. These numbers are also record lows.  When we say &#8220;record lows,&#8221; realize that mortgage rate records date back to the 1950s, so these numbers are truly amazing.</p>
<p>New Home builders are anticipating the that the low rates will boost sales in 2012. &#8220;Low mortgage rates were cited as a key reason the National Association of Home Builders survey of builder sentiment rose strongly in December and January.&#8221;</p>

<p>For three nights, the Bethany parking lot is transformed to depict life as it was 2,000 years ago in the days leading up to and on the night Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Visitors drive through a candlelit path with 19 scenes beginning with the angel Gabriel&#8217;s visit to Mary and ending with baby Jesus in the manger. Along the way blacksmiths shape iron in marketplace shops, shepherds watch their animals and families wander through the streets of a long ago place. King Herod sits on his throne and issues his decree while the marketplace is bustling and Mary rides through the town on a donkey looking for a place to rest. The Living Christmas Story is Bethany UMC&#8217;s annual gift to the community and a way for many families to set the tone for a season of thoughtful giving and to focus on God&#8217;s gift of His son to us all. <p>For the Summerville DREAM and the Summerville Fire Department&#8217;s Parade,  we are DREAMIN&#8217; of a GREEN Christmas-Recycle, Reuse, Renew.  Show how clever you can be in designing an eco-friendly float! All participants are encouraged to use recycled and reused materials in the construction of their floats. The &#8220;Green&#8221; Christmas theme for the 2011 parade is to inform, educate and encourage the public to get involved in saving the environment. Businesses, civic groups, churches, schools, bands and children&#8217;s scouting and sports teams are encouraged to participate.</p>
