The Beaches:

Isle of Palms is the beach I always recommend, plenty of public beach access and a great family beach.  There is a public area with showers, parking and lifeguards which makes visiting the beach a lot easier!

Wannamaker Park & Whirlin Waters

The kids will love a day at North Charleston Wannamaker County Park!  With over 1,015 acres of beautiful woodlands and wetlands, wonderful bike trails, picnic sites with grills, playgrounds, pedal boats and kayaks and the very popular water park-this is an amazing park!  The water park is now open, so surprise your kids and make a day of it! 🙂

Summerville DREAM Outdoor Concert:  August 21 6:30pm (Every third Thursday during the summer & fall Months there will be an outdoor concert in Summerville.)

The Summerville DREAM team is hosting a free outdoor concert on Thursday, August 21st on the lawn of downtown Summerville.  I would bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the concert!  The featured musician is Bobby Alvarez.  According to the DREAM website,  “Bobby Alvarez has been a staple in the music scene in Charleston for over 35 years. Originally from New York, Bobby is a percussionist as well as a vocalist and bass player who brings his unique tenor voice to anything he does. He is known in town these days as being the lead singer for popular party band Plane Jane and as being a lead vocalist for the Charleston Christmas Special at the music hall. Enjoy a night of Beach music, R&B and Motown!”  Sounds fun to me!

Summerville Farmers Market

LOCATION:W. Doty Street between Cedar and Main streets.

WHEN: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays, April 5-Nov. 22.

This is a great chance to get out and see your neighbors and buy local produce!  Twenty farmers are present selling seasonal vegetables and fruits and at least 32 other vendors offering jams, jellies, baked goods, barbecue sauce, plants, wood crafts, jewelry, carvings and photography. Hot dogs and ice cream also available.  My wife and I are there almost every week!
