Shipyard History

Location: Charleston,SC

Date: May 22, 2010, 11am-4pm

Information: Shipyard Shindig

Tour the Spirit of South Carolina and the rarely accessible historic Hobcaw Shipyard during the Shipyard Shindig from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The fundraiser for the S.C. Maritime Foundation and the Mount Pleasant Land Conservancy will have live music, children’s activities, trees for purchase, boat rides and more. There is no charge to attend

Oak Terrace Preserve Block Party

Location: Oak Terrace Preserve, North Charleston

Date: May 22,2010, 11-4 pm

Oak Terrace Preserve in North Charleston is hosting a block party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday at 100 Dolphin St. The new sustainable development recently was honored for Excellence for Sustainable Community Redevelopment. There will be complimentary food, live entertainment, kids activities and a tour of Oak Terrace Preserve. There is no charge to attend.


Memorial Day Concert 

Location: Kiawah Island, Charleston, SC

Date: 6-9pm May 28-30, 2010

Cost: No Charge

Memorial Day concerts: May 28-30 at Freshfields Village. The Town of Kiawah Island will be hosting three concerts during the weekend: Men of Distinction on Friday, The Great Society Band on Saturday, and Congdon & Company on Sunday. There is no charge to attend. The concerts are from 6 to 9 p.m. each night.
