Scarecrows on the Square

Location: Summerville, South Carolina

Date: October 22-November 5,2011

Come to Downtown Summerville to view the Scarecrows on the Square Event!  The Scarecrows on the Square event invites the community to display their site decorations in a family oriented environment to promote their business, civic club, school or family. All proceeds are returned to the community to support The Dorchester District Two School Supply Fund.

Ghost Walk & Harvest Moon Ride

Location: Downtown Summerville, Town Square

Date: Saturday, October 29, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Cost: $4/in advance, $6/day of, 3 & under are free.

Holly Day Arts & Crafts Market

Location: Downtown Summerville, South Carolina (Hutchinson Square & Short Central)
Date: Saturday, Dec 3, 2011

Summerville DREAM brings back the popular Holiday Arts and Craft Market as part of the Holly Days Open House. Hutchinson Square and Short Central will be open to artists, artisans and crafters who are interested in having a booth to show their wares for the holidays. Similar to the Art Walk that occurs on Third Thursdays during the spring and summer months, the Holiday Arts and Crafts market is a big draw and  features local groups caroling and performing holiday music all over the downtown area to add to the festive atmosphere.  Click here  for more information and an application for arts and crafts market participants.

Annual Summerville Christmas Parade

Location: Sunday, December 11, 2011, 2:00 pm

Entry Deadline: Friday, December 2, 1011

For the Summerville DREAM and the Summerville Fire Department’s Parade,  we are DREAMIN’ of a GREEN Christmas-Recycle, Reuse, Renew.  Show how clever you can be in designing an eco-friendly float! All participants are encouraged to use recycled and reused materials in the construction of their floats. The “Green” Christmas theme for the 2011 parade is to inform, educate and encourage the public to get involved in saving the environment. Businesses, civic groups, churches, schools, bands and children’s scouting and sports teams are encouraged to participate.

The Coastal Carolina Fair is owned and operated by the Exchange Club of Charleston, S.C., one of the oldest and largest service clubs in South Carolina and presently the largest Exchange Club in the nation with over 265 members who volunteer more than 10,000 man-hours each year to bring you the Fair.”
