This month’s festivities are packed with fun things to see and do all over Historic Downtown Summerville. There will be live performances on Hutchinson Square from the Summerville’s Got Talent Showcase as well as from the Tip Tap Toe Dance studio. The Art Walk and classical guitar music will fill Short Central. Previews of a one act play and dramatic reading presented by The Vintage Actors Ensemble add to an evening of performances by local talent. Test your Surgical Skills on the da Vinci Robot

Trident Health’s South Carolina Institute for Robotic Surgery invites you to get behind the controls of the da Vinci surgical robot. Everyone in attendance will be able to move the unit’s arms, play with the instruments and experience what surgeons see and feel when they use the robot to operate. Individuals will have the opportunity to perform a simulated one-minute surgery. Prizes will be given to the highest scorers, with the grand prize winner receiving an I-pad. A team of robotic surgeons and medical staff will be on hand to answer questions and help guide you through your simulated robotic surgery. This event is free and open to all ages. Breakfast and refreshments will be served.

“Town of Summerville Night”

The Charleston RiverDogs are going to honor our beautiful town at their game that night with the first ever “Town of Summerville Night.” The RiverDogs will be facing the Augusta Greenjackets, and it is sure to be a fun time. A portion of every ticket sold will benefit Summerville area youth baseball and softball leagues including Parks Field League, the Carolina Dixie Youth League, Summerville Little League, Summerville Miracle League.
Walking Tours of the Historic District

The Summerville Dorchester Museum is offering two guided walking tours around Summerville: one of old planter Summerville and the other of the West End. Walkers will also learn about the railroad history of Summerville. Tours are available daily by appointment. Each tour covers about one mile and takes approximately one hour.
