It is a busy time of year and there are plenty of Christmas and Thanksgiving Events going on in and around Summerville, SC.  Christmas time is one of the times that the small town feel of Summerville is especially found in the Christmas parade and Christmas Tree Lighting!

Christmas at Northwoods

December 5-7th Various Times

“Christmas at Northwood” (CAN) is a locally sponsored two-act production including singing, dancing, and comedy. This variety show featuring local talent is sure to leave you and your family filled with the Christmas spirit. Tickets $5


Summerville Christmas Tree Lighting

Tuesday December 3, 6:30 pm

Summerville Town Hall and Hutchinson Square

Join Mayor Bill Collins and the Town of Summerville as they light up Town Square and the Town Christmas Tree in Historic Downtown Summerville. Musical entertainment provided by the Summerville High School Band and choral groups.

The Living Christmas Story

(Presented by the people of Bethany United Methodist Church)

Thursday – Saturday, December 5 – 7,

6:30 pm to 9:30 pm

At first Francis, Jinx, Smudge, and Sparky aren’t sure why they’ve returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they’re needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. Sprinkled among the Christmas offerings are your favorites like their riotous three minute and eleven second version of “The Ed Sullivan Show” – this time featuring the Rockettes, the Chipmunks and The Vienna Boys Choir, and a Plaid Caribbean Christmas which puts the “Day-O” in Excelsis!

In front of Summerville Town Hall 200 South Main Street, Summerville

Take photos with Santa and enjoy a light breakfast. While you wait, families can enjoy craft activities in the heart of Historic Downtown Summerville. RSVP requested at (843) 873-9424.

Summerville Christmas Parade

Sunday, December 8, 2:00 pm

Registration Deadline: November 22, 4:00 pm

This year’s theme is “Sweet Southern Christmas.” All organizations, businesses, non-profits, civic and school groups and churches are welcome to participate.
