Summerville – Red, White & Blue on the Green in Summerville, SC & Fireworks
Location: Hutchinson Town Square (Red, White & Blue on the Green) & Gahagan Sports Complex (515 West Boundary St.) (Fireworks)
Date: Friday, July 4
5-8pm Historic downtown Summerville will be transformed into an Independence Day street festival. Summerville D.R.E.A.M. (Downtown Restoration, Enhancement and management) will be hosting the annual Red, White and Blue on the Green. This Summerville event features games, face-painting, and jump castles along with a watermelon-eating contest sponsored by businesses and community organizations. Food vendors will be on hand to offer lots of summer favorites for purchase. There will be a costume contest for the best patriotic garb. The winners will help the mayor lead off the annual crowd favorite – our non-motorized parade. Decorated bicycles and wagons as well families parade around the park and the most original and best decorated entrants are awarded prizes.
8pm – The Fireworks for the Summerville crowd will be later in the evening once it is dark, usually around 9pm. After you enjoy time downtown, head over to Gahagan Sports Complex for the fireworks show.
Directions to the Red, White and Blue on the Green Celebration: 1-26 West to Hwy. 17 South. Take Hwy. 17 South for about 4.5 miles until you reach the center of Summerville, SC at Hutchinson Square.
North Charleston – Riverfront Park -3-9 pm
The city of North Charleston always puts on a wonderful show for the residents of North Charleston. The North Charleston Fireworks and celebration will take place at Riverfront Park from 3 – 9PM this year. Enjoy local live music provided by the Blue Dogs as well as a few other local talented acts. Bring the whole family for an exciting 2014 4th of July in North Charleston! There will be traditional 4th of July food vendors on site and plenty of activities to keep everybody feeling patriotic, and full!
Last year 35,000 people came to America’s National Carrier Aviation Museum to watch a dazzling fireworks display, listen to terrific live bands, enjoy our Kidz Zone, and feast on some of the best summer holiday food in the Charleston area. This year’s Patriots Point 4th of July Blast should prove to be even more entertaining! With Patriots Point and its partners making their largest investment ever in pyrotechnics, this year’s fireworks display should rate as the most spectacular ever to be launched from the deck of the aircraft carrier YORKTOWN.

Directions: I-26 to downtown Charleston. Take Hwy. 17 North, cross the Cooper River Bridge and follow signs to Patriots Point.
The city of Goose Creek has a fabulous Fourth of July celebration planned for the residents of Goose Creek! Live music from the Local Motion Party Band, free kid’s area, food vendors and a great grand finale fireworks show. Free parking and free admission. Parking is limited, so try to carpool and arrive early. No pets, coolers, alcohol or fireworks.
