Looking for Christmas Events in Summerville 2016?
Christmas break is starting next Monday in our area and though a lot of fun Christmas events have already transpired in Summerville, here are two of my favorites that are still going on! Seeing holiday lights is one of the best things to do with children. When my four were little, watching them gasp in awe and admiration of all the twinkling lights was a highlight for me and Patricia. Now that we are on to the grandparent stage, we still enjoy seeing the beautiful lights. The two best displays in our area are the James Island County Park and the Santee Canal lights.
The Santee Canal Lights….located in Moncks Corner, this is a great adventure to take the kids on… They have a “Celebrate the Season” Holiday lights drive through. The light display winds all the way through the park and is spectacular. Admission is only $5 and the benefits go to charities in Berkeley County, which is pretty spectacular if you ask me.
The James Island County Park is located on James Island and is definitely spectacular. It has more to do and you can get out and walk around in the lighted wonderland, which is extra fun for the little guys. The display winds over three miles of the park area and is very fun. Admission is 15$/car, so a little pricier.
You can’t go wrong with either display. You will probably have to wait in line, but crank up the holiday music, bring a container of hot cocoa and enjoy your family! Merry Christmas!
